Communications Palace, Madrids Mayors office
30 minute trips
Madrid, the largest and capital city in Spain. The city has many sites to see and, many museums to visit. Thought the
real reason to visit Madrid is the nightlife. It is well known that the people in Madrid like to go out drink and dance all
night, only stopping to go home shower and go to work. When the young people are not drinking in the clubs they often meet
up with eachother in the parks where they drink, but recent developments has punished this and the younger crowd has gone
to less popular places. If the night life isnt why your traveling to Madrid, head on over to Las Ventas, the largest bullring
in Spain. From March till October there are many bull fights to be seen. Listing a few places to visit and some good sites
to see while in Madrid, i would start with Puerto del Sol, Puerta de Europa, Plaza Mayor, Communications palace, and
the Royal Palace of Madrid. Another place to go is Aranjuez is a town lying 48 km south of Madrid, in the southern part of
the Community of Madrid. An excellent day trip with lots to see and is just over a half an hour south. (suggested 5 days)

The easiest way to travel outside of Madrid would be to take the train, which is easily accessible in Madrid, From here
you can travel virtually anywhere in Spain under two hours. Unfortunatly there is not much to see outside of an hour from
the greater city, at least that you can reach in a reasonable driving time. The prices to use the trains is fairly reasonable but
we suggest getting there between 9am and 2pm if you would like to speak with an english attendant. This appears to be about
the time that they staff these individuals. I regret that there is less for me to inform you about, if the sites you are seeking
lie further out then we suggest looking into them yourselves, or posting to our log and we will look into them for you.

Known as the “city of the three cultures” -Christian, Arab and Jewish-
and the city were El Greco lived for a long time; Toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy that makes the old quarter
of the capital of La Mancha a real open-air museum, which has led to it being declared a World Heritage Site. This city is
jam packed with not only religious sites but many others as well, take the time to take the city in and enjoy the hidden treasures.
Segovia is just about an hour north of Madrid and about a half an hour north via the bullet train. The old city is spectacularly
situated atop a long, narrow promontory. It contains a wealth of monuments, including the cathedral, a famous ancient Roman
Aqueduct, the Alcazar, and various churches built in the Romanesque style including San Esteban, San Martin, and San Millan.
